Welcome to the Florida Blue Key Mathematics Invitational website.

We at Florida Blue Key look forward to hosting this inaugural tournament on Saturday, March 29th, 2008. Established in 1923, Florida Blue Key organizes the University of Florida’s homecoming, including the production of Gator Growl, the world’s largest student-run pep rally. Florida Blue Key also hosts the Florida Blue Key Speech and Debate Tournament, the premier forensics tournament of the Southeast. This year, Florida Blue Key is embracing the opportunity to host its first-ever mathematics competition at the University of Florida.

Last spring, many of the students who are involved in this year’s tournament hosted an invitational for the Florida Association of Mu Alpha Theta, or FAMAT. FAMAT is a statewide organization that organizes mathematics competitions for Florida high schools. Florida Blue Key appreciates this valuable partnership with FAMAT as we continue striving to foster a keen interest in mathematics among middle and high school students throughout the Southeast. The committee responsible for hosting the competition is called the Florida Blue Key Mathematics Bureau. The chairman of the committee is Marshall Printy and his associate chairman is James Doker. Both were intimately involved with the first tournament and are committed to achieving even greater success with this year’s competition.
